Sun awning Lux wins ‘Archiproducts Design Award 2022’

Harol’s innovative design takes home another international design award

After the Red Dot Award Lux is now also the recipient of the Archiproducts Design Award, yet another accolade for Harol’s innovative design concept. The high-end sun blind with exclusive ‘Invisibly Wired’ arms not only offers protection and shade but also provides your terrace with unprecedented comfort. Wednesday evening CEO Annick Draelants accepted the award at a special ceremony in Milan.

The Lux sun awning is undoubtedly one of the eye-catchers of the new generation of sun awnings. The jury of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022 praised the sun awning in the Outdoor category for its minimalist design and optimum comfort as a result of a substantial investment in sustainable innovation.

The steel cables are hidden from view, which really does the austere forms of the folding arms justice. Moreover, these Invisibly Wired arms have a 25,000 cycle life span, i.e. the equivalent of opening and closing twice a day for 25 years, or a lifetime of natural cooling. Lux’ austere lines and cubist box allow smooth integration into a minimalist architecture and are also suitable for more classic dwellings.

“We are very proud of this award”, says Harol’s CEO Annick Draelants. “As a pioneer in the creation of natural cooling, we like to set ourselves apart through sustainable overall concepts that blend in with their environment. Aesthetics are key in this regard and the award is a welcome recognition of our approach.”

Thanks to Lux customers enjoy natural cooling in a sizeable area: up to 28 m² of shade on your terrace, with a drop of up to 4 m and a maximum width of 7 m. Lux is also linkable up to 12 m, for even more shade in the same sleek look. This generous shadow zone can be extended with an automatically operated valance in the extension pole, which can drop to 2 metres; ideal not just to ward off heat but also the blinding effect of low sun. Lux can also be fitted with both dimmable LED lighting – either direct or indirect, in the box, extension pole and arms – and heating. The safe sensors also contribute to worry-free outdoor living.
